Saudi Arabian 'Zain' Premier League fantasy football
THE BRIEF
The brainchild of a football fanatic member of the Saudi Arabian Royal Family, we were briefed to create an identity and website design for a Fantasy Football portal for the country’s ‘Zain’ Premier League. It was a very high profile project working with local technical teams for the build and development of the incredibly complex back end. The brief included naming (and finding something that was legally ownable in English and Arabic).
THE WORK - IDENTITY AND DIGITAL
The project was a huge learning curve as we searched for a name that would translate, trademark and work in two languages. Not only that, we had to design the identity and the website (with over 100 page templates and thousands of supporting graphics) to work for English and Arabic - literally in two directions, left-to-right and right-to-left - all within 6 weeks.
THE RESULT(S)
The launch of the site has been a huge success. Even before the development was complete there were numerous approaches to buy the business and take ownership of the site. Such was the interest that ‘Zain’ the region’s leading mobile phone operator and sponsor of the Saudi Arabian Premier League effectively adopted it as their site, buying up all potential advertising space.
The site is now seen as the country’s best football portal even while it’s still technically in its soft launch phase with a range of developments and technologies yet to be added.
